---NOTE FROM CURRENT SELLER ON VESSEL HISTORY, PAST WORK COMPLETED, AND CURRENT CONDITION---
"My family had a home for over 30 years on the west shore of Lake Tahoe, California, just north of Homewood, across from the old Kaiser estate. My father, William Praul, Jr. bought the Chris in 1964 with 43 hours on it from Jake O'Bexer Sr. My father's name was Will growing up and since he was always towing us on water skis, we named the boat Whip-r-Will. We were known to have up to four skiers in tow along the shores of Homewood. It remained on the Lake every summer wintering in Napa and used on Lake Berryessa quite often."
"All the mahogany was restored approximately 3 years ago also both the vinyl decks. Most of the red and white upholstery has been replaced. The engine has been newly painted with new electrical, carburetor, exhaust manifolds and bilge pumps. Left to redo: some vinyl, gages, trailer need painting and winch installed, two cracked boards, a couple pieces of stainless metal trim around transom, new steering wheel, new ladder wood steps, new flags, running lights repaired, re-fiberglass motor hatch top. I have spent about $17,000 to date on the restoration.
A Concours d'Elegance winner and professional wood boat restorer, Roy Domke owner of Runabout reflections in Healdsburg, CA. initiated the restoration. Roy retired early in the process and turned the business over to Rick Thomson who completed the restoration about three years ago. Local marine mechanic Steve Finnegan of Napa Valley Marina installed a new Edelbrock 1409 carburetor and new exhaust manifolds earlier this year. The white upholstery motor hatch sides were replaced this year. Original carburetor is available as well as high and low altitude propellers, three original Maharaja and O'Brien wood slalom skis as well as fiberglass newer Maha's.
Owners are selling her because they simply just don't have the time to use her these days. Title in hand.
